ShoreSox Materials

The ShoreSox patent pending system consists of recycled corn stalk fiber and a unique containment system made of fully biodegradable, lined burlap and photodegradable mesh. ShoreSox modules are a sturdy enough medium to withstand the forces of wind, waves and ice. Cornstalk fiber is the ‘engine’ that allows ShoreSox to absorb and retain sufficient amounts of water and nutrients to promote the growth of aquatic vegetation. As new aquatic growth becomes firmly established, the cornstalk fiber in ShoreSox slowly degrades leaving strong, deeply rooted vegetation, which is the key to a renewed and revitalized shoreline.
