 | | Daniel Dix - Daniel Dix is owner of WoodSpirit Gardens, a Landscape Design and Installation Company located in North Central Minnesota, the heart of the ‘Lake Country’.
Putting strong emphasis on working with nature in all his company’s projects he has a unique perspective on land use and environmental issues. His diverse undertakings include Therapeutic, Water and Oriental gardens as well as wetland restoration, erosion and flood control. Having also been a professional logger during the 1980’s he has the ability to evaluate and share distinct observations, understandings and perceptions in the conservation and landscape fields.
Daniel, recognized as a leader in the field of natural landscaping, was contracted by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as an instructor for the state sponsored ‘Landscaping for Wildlife’ educational series in 2000.
Passing laws and then enforcing them is one way to protect the land, but another, and Daniel feels better way, exists. That way, is to show and teach people how desirable and beautiful landscaping is, when done in harmony with nature.
Ever since Daniel and Thomas started WoodSpirit Gardens the two have been moving progresively forward, preaching a philosophy that Chief Standing Bear articulated so long ago, “Man’s heart, away from nature, becomes hard.”

Thomas Dix - Tom has over 20 years in the landscape industry working both in the Minneapolis/St. Paul MN Metropolitan area and in and around Tucson, Arizona.
Thomas is a world traveler and an artist in several mediums. To every landscape project he brings a strong background in horticulture, a deep love of nature, and respect for life.
Also his experience in such varied ecological areas and types of projects gives him a unique perspective when undertaking any new landscape endeavor.

Phillip Dix - It's all about genetics. Phillip has been working with his father since before he can remember. Dan's unique perspective and Tom's artistic abilities has rubbed off. Phillip brings youthful exuberance to the creative team of Dan and Tom.
